Cleaver History
Cleaver International was founded in 1956 by John Cleaver, a man of vision and innovation. Cleaver spent his early career as an Industrial Engineer addressing production-line output, efficiency and quality issues. At the time, American manufacturing structured and managed its resources to maximize production through the reutilization of work. Cleaver was troubled by the prevailing management philosophy that treated all people alike and assumed one style of management would suffice. He decided to pursue his belief that each individual was unique and therefore needed to be measured and evaluated for compatibility with the human behavioral requirements of the job.
Pioneering the field of management development, Cleaver started Cleaver International with the conviction that productivity within American management could be drastically improved if jobs and individuals were measured and evaluated in human terms. With this unique approach, management could evaluate the behavior, motivation and performance of each individual.
